My 17th Birthday!

Another year older and wiser too! :D

Wow, 17. I feel majorly old. D: I want to go back to the dutch boy hair cut days! It kind of gives me a reality check, because next year I'll be a senior and then it's off to college to start my new life. :\

Oh well, I don't think it will ever matter what age I am. I'll still be the same old Melissa Lou! :)

This year my Birthday was seriously one of the best ones ever!!

I woke up to a nice breakfast my mother had made for me, and my parents sat down with me to open up my birthday present. I have to admit though, when i saw an incredibly thin and small, package i was extremely curious.

I quickly shredded the paper to find a green envelope with my name on it. "OH, thanks for wrapping the card to mom." I said sarcastically as i opened the envelope. I was guessing it was some money, plus some heart felt words my parents had scribbled onto the card, boy was i dead wrong.

When i opened the card i saw a ticket, I remember thinking, "uh kay?" ha ha. But after i had taken a closer look, I squealed and a smile spread from ear to ear. I was going to get to see Wicked!!! I could feel my endorphins start to sing popular as my heart pranced merrily around my chest from pure happiness!

Later i found out we would be seeing it on our vacation in California, and all the girls would get to go see it! OH MY SHMOE. I seriously am ecstatic about all of this! :)

When i got to school, i was dreading my classes altogether. I didn't want to sit there and focus on what really makes a fraction improper, or why a rock traveling 10 m/s squared involves physics. All i wanted to do was run around doing "17 year old things".

Luckily i have the coolest friends in the world! I was sitting in my fifth hour class when i heard the tune "Happy birthday" coming towards me. I looked up immediately embarrassed, my face was bright red so i had no choice but to hide my head in my hands. They even brought me a cake with a candle and everything! I made sure to wish for payback when it was their birthdays.

It may have been embarrassing at the time, but it was one of the nicest things any one has done for me on my birthday! :) They are all amazing and I'm so glad i have good friends!

The rest of the day was pretty normal, but the only difference was that i was another year older! :D

Oh! the funniest thing happened that night though! when my mom brought in the ice cream cake, i looked at the name and i swear it said something like Melekalikmaka! haha, my mom thinks the person who answered the phone and took the order was oriental or something! xD lol.

Then on saturday, I took a couple friends to Hollywood connection! LOL, i think we are a little old to go there, but heck it was fun! I went on the rollercoaster, bumper cars, the little bus ride thing, and even the merry go round! lol, nothing like acting like your 5 again on your 17th birthday with some friends! :)

My birthday this year was amazing! I had a lot of fun! I am so grateful that i have a great family and friends to help me celebrate! :)
