Time is a precious thing.

These last two months have seriously just flown by. Where did all my time go? I still can't believe my Birthday has already come and gone. Being 18 doesn't feel any different, but i feel like I've matured a lot over the past year. I feel like i'm finally starting to find my niche in life.

I had a really neat experience when I went to Barnes and Noble with my mom the other day.

There was this old man there who was trying to sell people his book, and of course he caught us off guard and we ended up having a really cool conversation with him!

I guess he's a newly published author so I was really interested in what he had to say and wondered if he could give me any insight on the writing business.

As we continued talking he asked me how old I was and where I wanted to go to college and what I wanted to study.

I told him I was 18, and planning on going to BYU-I to become a Journalist or a writer. He told me that he was a seminary teacher in Rexburg! AND his granddaughter is going to school at BYU-I! INSANE right??

Anyway, he told me that if I ever had a thought, or an idea to write it down. We ended up buying his book, "Emery's Secret" and he signed it for me! It says:

"Melissa,
Always follow your heart.
- Robert Johnson Almond."

For some reason that really stuck out to me. It got me thinking. There is so much I want to do now, but there just isn't enough time. High school is almost over, and it really makes me sad that all those days are gonna be over soon.

I'm playing Softball this year! :) I'm really excited. I know my dad will be with me every day at practice, and sitting in the bleachers cheering me on. Just going to open gym I could hear him in the back of my mind saying "No, do it right." or "watch your bat hit the ball." and even "Good job missy."

I was always Missy moo moo, or just Missy to my dad. I'm gonna miss that the most I think. With every good there comes the bad, and I think that this season is going to be one I never forget, but it's also going to be one of the hardest things i'll have to go through since my dad passed away.

I shouldn't worry though, I've got my own angel in the outfield this season. :) <3
